Sandcastle
I stand upon a moonlit beach
With the Atlantic ending at my feet
North east wind whips at my back
For penance and grace I sorely lack
I stand with sadness across my face
Placed on Earth this lonely place
The tide calls deep as it pulls the sand
From under my feet where I stand
I'm in its trance but I won't go
But stand my ground with all I know
What life throws me I won't deny
Makes me flicker wane laugh and cry
But one day soon my sands of time
Will drag me out with evening tide
Till all I am is a memory
An epitath that stands for all to read
But my heart has caught every grain that falls
Thru my hourglass yes, I will catch them all
And transform this life to infinity
With a place, a castle for you and me
So I let these hours torment my soul
I resist the tide, the wind, the call
And walk on forward through this hell called time
Till the oceans still, and you are mine
High Noon
There is a place called lonliness
Where all my snakes dare to tread
Hidden under floorboards of my youth
And beneath me in the world of dead
But wherever it is I seem to go
Follow aimlessly leashed and bound
And hide it well for the sake of others
And reveal it when they're not around
It takes me to a place called nothing
Where dark is always thick and black
And night wont work, the blind can see
tress if you pass, no going back
Then another place called suicide
a land of plenty called in mortem est
Where tickets are given free of charge
For a train who's tracks I know the best
But this moment is different than ever before
The ice cold shakes my memory
Of promises left and tasks undone
Of scenes long played by you and me
My doubt reveals a mysterious road
to a land called destiny
Where whispers may touch my soul
And someones path appear in me
So to these tracks I say farewell
And play the odds to decide
my faith is what you make of it
If I live or if I die
