I was told I'm too lenient with my children because I use "punishment&praise standards"; a set basis agreed upon by my children and me to deal with all types of behavioral issues, from good grades to committing a crime. For instance, payment for each good grade and debt for each bad grade; but was told to allow it for such things that "should" deserve a spanking was too lenient.
On the other hand; there are a few adults now that have undergone my "brand" of parenting, and say that it made them better parents and adults.
So I ask: "Spare the rod, Spoil the child." truth or myth?
In my own life it's been proven repeatedly to be a myth. |
