I asked God to take away my pain.
God said, No.
It is not for me to take away,
but for you to give up.
I asked God to make my handicapped child whole.
God said, No.
Her spirit was whole,
her body was only temporary.
I asked God to grant me patience.
God said, No.
Patience is a by-product of tribulations,
it isn't granted, it is earned.
I askedGod to give me happiness.
God said, No.
I give you blessings,Happiness is up to you.
I asked God to spare me pain.
God said. No.
Suffering draws you apart from worldly cares
and brings you closer to me.
I asked God to make my spirit grow.
God said, No.
You must grow on your own.
but I will prune you to make you fruitful.
I asked for all things that I might enjoy life.
God said, No.
I will give you life so that
you may enjoy all things.
I ask God to help me LOVE others,
as much as he loves me.
God said.... Ahhhh,
finally you have the idea.
I hope that this helps you that read it as it has helped me.
Always Mare
After a while you learnthe subtle difference
Between holding a hand and chaining a soul,
And you learn that love doesn't mean leaning
And company doesn't mean security,
And you begin to understand that kisses aren't
contracts.
And presents aren't promises,
And you begin to accept your defeats
With your head held high and your eyes open,
With the grace of a woman, not the grief of a child.
You learn to build your roadss
On today because tomorrow's ground
Is too uncertain for plans, and futures have
A way of falling down in midflight.
After a while you learn that even sunshine
Burns if you get too much.
So you plant your own garden and decorate
Your own soul, instead of waiting;
For someone to bring you flowers.
And you learn that you really can endure,
That you really are strong
And you really do have worth
And you learn and learn.... and you learn
With every goodbye you learn.
thought that you might enjoy this as much asd I did
