SINCE YOU'VE BEEN GONE
NOTHING HAS BEEN RIGHT
EVERYTHING SEEMS TO GO WRONG
I NEED YOU IN MY LIFE
PLEASE GIVE ME GUIDANCE
FROM THE HEAVENS ABOVE
PLEASE HELP DADDY,
TEACH ME TO LOVE
AND TO LIVE MY LIFE ONCE AGAIN
THE WAY THAT I SHOULD
PLEASE TEACH ME THE WAY
ONLY A DADDY COULD
I wrote this poem for my father who after a brief yet very painful battle with metastatic adenocarcenoma, lost his fight with this horrible illness on June 8, 2007.
My daddy fought very hard to overcome this illness. He suffered through so much, but in doing so taught me to never give up, and to keep my faith, bust most importantly taught me not to take anyone I love for granted. My daddy has gone to be with Jesus now. He can watch over me from above. I know he is no longer suffering, and that makes me feel better, but not as good as it would to have him here healthy and happy. Daddy you are still alive in my heart and you always will be. Thank you for being such a wonderful giving father the 32 years I got to spend with you. Rest in peace daddy. You deserve it
